Mutual funds and an empirical study on Greek stock mutual fund during the period 2001-2005

Abstract

The particular assignments purpose is to give a clear video to its reader about the mutual fund and their evaluation. In more detail the reader can learn what is a mutual fund, where a mutual fund can invest and what types of mutual funds exist. There is a special reference made to the stock mutual funds, in this particular sub-category of the mutual fund we will focus for the rest of this assignment. We will see in theory how we measure and evaluate the performance of a stock mutual fund. And in the last part of the assignment we will take 44 mutual funds that invest mainly in domestic stocks and try to evaluate their performance based in what we studied. The Evaluated period is from 05/06/2001 to 11/03/2005.
