This research aims to explore the way Emotional intelligence and Transformational leadership apply in the domain of athleticism in Greece. We actually investigated whether coach leadership affects young athletes’ individual effectiveness. Our findings, from a data of 288 individuals, indicated that there is a direct and positive relationship between the Emotional Intelligence of coaches and both the talent and performance of the players. In addition, results revealed that the Transformational leadership of players (the way they perceive their coaches’ instructions), is related with their effort and development during practice and game time. This paper studies several aspects of Emotional Intelligence and Transformational leadership and shows which of them can be related with the levels of performance for each player individually.en_US
